Profit after tax at Emirates NBD, which is the leading bank in Dubai, stood at AED 19.3 billion during the first nine months of 2026, showing a 2 percent rise from the previous year. The pre-tax income for the bank based in Dubai rose by 4 percent to AED 24.3 billion. The strong expansion in the businesses in Dubai as well as in the neighboring countries helped in the earning of a maximum income of AED 42.2 billion, growing by 15 percent annually.

It is evident that the financial performance indicates the inherent strength of the economy in Dubai as well as the United Arab Emirates. Due to the strong liquidity and demand for credit in various domestic sectors, the total assets of the bank grew by 18 percent and stood at AED 1.38 trillion. Gross loans expanded 27 percent to AED 833 billion, while customer deposits grew 19 percent to hit AED 935 billion. Meanwhile, pre-impairment operating profits rose 14 percent to reach AED 29 billion.

Maintaining healthy credit fundamentals, the group recorded a cost of risk of 37 basis points while preserving robust capital and liquidity cushions. Beyond core banking activities in Dubai, the firm strengthened its global footprint through pivotal strategic moves. Following its acquisition of RBL Bank earlier in June, Emirates NBD secured an agreement to absorb HSBC’s retail banking network in Egypt.

Group Chief Executive Officer Shayne Nelson described the Egyptian transaction as an essential milestone that solidifies the group’s regional presence and accelerates its broader franchise growth. Simultaneously, Vice Chairman and Managing Director Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim noted that Emirates NBD Capital reinforced Dubai’s position as a regional financial center by arranging over 70 debt capital market deals year-to-date, raising more than $60 billion across 13 countries. Alongside geographic expansion, the financial institution continues channeling significant capital into generative artificial intelligence tools, wealth management offerings, and digital banking platforms.
