Financial regulatory bodies, governments, and private sector representatives have met at the first-ever Digital Assets Leadership Forum to plan for the next stage of capital market growth. Jointly organized by Daman Virtual and the Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai, the event focused on the inclusion of tokenized real-world assets within financial systems. This move is highly relevant to the economic objectives set forth in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the size of the economy and maintain its position as one of the world’s leading business centers. Industry experts noted that transforming the rights to traditional financial products, such as sovereign and corporate sukuk bonds, investment vehicles, and international stocks, into digital tokens on blockchain will create unique opportunities for liquidity and attracting institutional investments.

Addressing delegates, key executives noted that while foundational regulatory frameworks are firmly established, future progress relies heavily on institutional adoption and market depth rather than technological novelty alone. Industry leadership stressed that success hinges on delivering structural clarity, robust investor protections, and transparent operational standards comparable to conventional trading environments.

Furthermore, industry leaders noted that expanding digital liquidity channels aligns with broader efforts to modernise financial services across the region, encouraging greater cross-border collaboration while ensuring full adherence to international risk management guidelines and AML controls.

The event featured representation from major public sector entities, including the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, alongside prominent digital finance firms like Galaxy Digital and Zand. Participating institutional brokerages highlighted that establishing direct local currency (AED) settlement and seamless integration with domestic banking channels are essential drivers for attracting family offices, corporate treasuries, and international asset managers to the region’s digital asset ecosystem.

As digital asset regulation matures, industry participants agree that tokenisation will transition from experimental pilots into a core pillar of national economic infrastructure, unlocking new capital pools across regional and international trading networks. Dubai Financial Center
