The owners and renters in Ajman can now cancel their lease agreements in seconds via an automatic and digital system that was recently launched by the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Embedded within the Tasdeeq digital platform of the emirate, the recently introduced system will cancel any agreement automatically without requiring any documentation upon the digital approval by the parties involved in the process. The process is fully devoid of any human verification stage and the need for uploading documents.
As per Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, the Director General of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, the process of consolidation of cancellation requests via an automatic digital process greatly simplifies procedures and cuts processing times.
Users can access the portal around the clock from any location without needing to visit government service centres. The operational transition responds directly to surging real estate activity across the emirate. Official figures show that Ajman registered 73,472 lease contracts during the first half of 2026, representing a cumulative value of AED 2.91 billion ($792.4 million).
Managing an average volume exceeding 12,200 monthly rental agreements created strong operational demand for automated lifecycle management.
Concurrently, the Ajman Land and Real Estate Regulation Department reported 6,815 real estate deals valued at AED 10.8 billion ($2.94 billion) over the same six-month timeframe.
Yousuf Mohammed Al Shaiba Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Rental Regulation Sector, emphasised that embedding digital systems forms a foundational pillar for enhancing public service delivery while keeping pace with sustained residential and commercial growth.
The technical upgrade builds upon legislative reforms enacted earlier this year. In January 2026, His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, issued Law No. 1 of 2026, establishing a specialised Rental Dispute Resolution Centre that assumed jurisdiction over leasing conflicts across the emirate, including free zone territories. By automating routine administrative tasks prior to potential disputes, the municipality aims to optimise resource allocation across its broader administrative network.
